Short on Time? 5 Quick and Healthy Family Meals For the Busy Mom
Here are some healthy family meal ideas that don't take a lot of time to make:
- Tacos -Tacos are a family favorite in my home. The great thing about tacos is that each family member can put on what they like and leave out what they don't. Use hard and soft shells for variety. For family menu planning, prepare the toppings ahead of time so you can just pull them out on taco night.
- Skewers - Making kebobs are really easy. You can create tasty chicken, pork, seafood or beef kebobs quickly and can use variety to please picky family members. Prepare the kebobs before dinner and place them in a sealed container until meal day. This is the benefit of family meal planning - getting prep work done early. Cook your tasty kebobs on a gas grill or use a grill pan indoors.
- Chef salad - Salads are always quick and healthy family meal. They are also easy to customize to fit the taste of each family member. Start with some nice, crispt lettuce and prepare various toppings such as bacon crumbles Parmesan cheese, tomatoes, shredded cheese, black beans and cucumbers or other fixings that your family may prefer.
- Tortilla wraps - Create delicious quick sandwiches with your favorite flavor of tortilla and add crunchy veggies and diced chicken, pork or beef.
- Leftover creations- Use leftovers to create salads, casseroles, sandwiches and soups. Don't let anything go to waste if it can be used for new meals.
Take these ideas and change to suit your family's tastes. Creating healthy family meals can be a challenge but it does not have to be. Figure out what your family likes and go. By preparing a plan for your meals you will save yourself some time and money and provide healthy meals for your family.
